Zhongyuan Bank Raises 10 Billion Yuan Through Perpetual Bond Issuance

Zhongyuan Bank (01216) has announced the successful issuance of its perpetual capital bonds on the interbank bond market, following approvals from both the Henan branch of the National Financial Regulatory Administration and the People's Bank of China.

The bank completed the book-building process for the first tranche of its 2026 perpetual capital bonds on September 17, 2026, with settlement of funds finalized on September 21, 2026. The total issuance size reached RMB 10 billion.

The bonds carry an initial coupon rate of 1.92% for the first five years, with the rate subject to adjustment every five years thereafter. Zhongyuan Bank retains the right to redeem all or part of the bonds at the fifth anniversary and at each subsequent interest payment date.

Proceeds from this issuance will be utilized to supplement the bank's additional Tier 1 capital, in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory approvals.
