The first batch of the national emerging industry development demonstration base creation list has recently been announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with Zhejiang's "two parks and eight enterprises" making the list, placing the province in the top tier nationally by number of selections.
The national emerging industry development demonstration base serves as an important vehicle and strategic platform for cultivating and expanding emerging industries and advancing new industrialization. The list announced this time covers ten emerging fields including artificial intelligence, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, new energy storage manufacturing, biomanufacturing, and intelligent robots, identifying the first batch of 21 park-type and 112 enterprise-type demonstration base creation targets.
Zhejiang leads in track layout, having established demonstration bases in six fields ahead of others. The 10 demonstration bases selected from Zhejiang this time are distributed across six major fields including intelligent connected new energy vehicles, new energy storage manufacturing, artificial intelligence, biomanufacturing, intelligent robots, and low-altitude equipment, with the number of selected fields tying for first nationally alongside Shandong and Jiangsu. Among them, the intelligent connected new energy vehicle field saw one park and two enterprises selected, while the new energy storage manufacturing field saw three enterprises selected, both ranking first nationally in terms of selection numbers.
Zhejiang's private enterprises are the main contributors to these selections. Private enterprises account for 87.5% of Zhejiang's selected enterprises, higher than the national average of 60.7%, including both long-established companies and emerging technology leaders. Established private enterprise leaders such as Geely and Sunny Optical, which have deep roots in manufacturing for many years, are driving collaborative innovation across the upstream and downstream of industrial chains; cutting-edge technology newcomers such as Unitree Robotics and Liwei are seizing the high ground in niche markets with hardcore technology, fully demonstrating the innovative vitality and manufacturing heritage of Zhejiang's private economy.
According to national deployment, by 2035, China will create 100 park-type and 1,000 enterprise-type demonstration bases nationwide. Next, Zhejiang will thoroughly implement the spirit of the National Advanced Manufacturing Conference, focus on the key tracks of the "415X" advanced manufacturing cluster, vigorously cultivate and build national emerging industry development demonstration bases, persist in both strengthening advantages and shoring up weaknesses, accelerate the large-scale application of emerging industries, support qualified parks and enterprises in benchmarking and upgrading, and promote the accelerated development and growth of emerging industries.
Specifically, for advantageous tracks such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles and new energy storage, Zhejiang will actively plan to create a batch of strategic "super products"; for fields with a relatively good foundation such as artificial intelligence, intelligent robots, and low-altitude equipment, the province will support local areas and enterprises in seizing opportunities and amplifying advantages; priority will be given to promoting qualified parks such as Wenzhou High-tech Zone (new energy storage manufacturing) and Taizhou Bay New Area (low-altitude equipment) to accelerate their inclusion in the national layout system; for tracks that have not yet been explored such as software, commercial aerospace, clean low-carbon hydrogen, and safety and emergency equipment, Zhejiang will optimize cultivation directions based on resource endowments, encourage and support exploration of multiple technology routes, continuously expand innovative forces in advanced manufacturing, and accumulate momentum for the sustained development of emerging industries.
