Recently, the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released the second batch of the 2026 National Famous, Special, Excellent and New Agricultural Products Catalogue and the National Specialty Agricultural Products Catalogue.

Among them, Wanquan District's Black Horse Lotus Leek was selected as a National Famous, Special, Excellent and New Agricultural Product, while Xuanhua District's Ta'ercun Watermelon was included in the National Specialty Agricultural Products Catalogue.

With these additions, the city's total number of National Famous, Special, Excellent and New Agricultural Products has reached 19, and its National Specialty Agricultural Products have increased to 16.

Wanquan Black Horse Lotus Leek boasts a rich leek aroma, pungent yet not spicy, with a tender and delicious taste and distinctive quality characteristics.

Xuanhua Ta'ercun Watermelon is an early-maturing small-fruit hanging vine variety, featuring a well-formed, tall-round shape, small and uniform size, firm and fine flesh, abundant and sweet juice, and small, sparse seeds, giving it outstanding product recognition.

In recent years, the city has leveraged the differentiated ecological resource endowments of the Bashang and Baxia areas, deeply tapping into the resource advantages of specialty agricultural products, and a batch of high-quality, regionally distinctive agricultural products have successively obtained national-level "golden signboards."

Previously, Xuanhua Zhangzagu Millet, Zhangbei Mushroom, Kangbao Oat Flakes, Guyuan Quinoa, Shangyi Oats, Shangyi White-feathered Broiler, Yangyuan Yingge Mung Bean, Wanquan Waxy Corn, Huailai Purple-skinned Garlic, Zhuolu Purple-skinned Garlic, Zhuolu Black Rabbit, Chicheng Pole Bean, Xiahuayuan Large Hazelnut, Yuzhou Tribute Rice, Huai'an Potato, Zhuolu Millet, Zhuolu Longan Grape, and Chongli Colorful Bell Pepper had successively entered the ranks of National Famous, Special, Excellent and New Agricultural Products.

Gumailang Quinoa Rice, Dongshawo Purple-skinned Garlic, Guangyi Black Rabbit, Zhangzagu Germ Millet, Zhongdu Mushroom, Kaikuo Flaxseed, Jiu'en Potato, Gucaiyuan Potato, Huai'an Jintian Guyun Millet, Chicheng Youmeiheng Red Peony, Fengwuduo Fresh Eggs, Junjiang Lion's Mane Mushroom, Jingke Youxuan Mini Cucumber, Jingke Youxuan Tomato, and Guanting Shipian Yellow Apricot had successively been recognized as National Specialty Agricultural Products, forming a national-level specialty agricultural product matrix with rich categories and distinctive features.

Next, the city will continue to solidly advance standardized production, brand cultivation, and market promotion of specialty agricultural products, continuously expanding the influence of Zhangjiakou's agricultural brand, and boosting the quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and transformation and upgrading of rural specialty industries.
