Attention, everyone! High-speed railway construction in Zhejiang is in full swing. The Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai-to-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway will add multiple new stations. Let us take a look.

Overview of the Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway Project

The Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway starts from Tongxiang Station, passes through Tongxiang City and Haining City in Jiaxing, crosses the Qiantang River and heads south, runs through Qiantang District and Xiaoshan District in Hangzhou and Keqiao District in Shaoxing, and terminates at Shaoxing North Station. The newly built main line is approximately 72 kilometers long, of which the Tongxiang-to-Qiantang section is about 34 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and the Qiantang-to-Shaoxing section is about 38 kilometers with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. A connecting line of about 13 kilometers from Hangzhou South Station to Xiaoshan Airport Station is also planned, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The planned construction period for the project is 4 years.

The line will include stations such as Tongxiang, Haining Guanchao, Qiantang, Xiaoshan Airport, and Shaoxing North. Among them, Haining Guanchao, Qiantang, and Xiaoshan Airport will be newly built stations.

The new Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway is scheduled to begin full-scale construction within 2026. The preliminary phase of the project broke ground in September 2025, with a total construction period of 4 years, meaning it is expected to be completed in 2029. The Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway is located in southern Shanghai and northern Zhejiang. The line starts in the east at the under-construction Shanghai East Station of the Oriental Hub, uses the second phase of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway to reach Situan Station, connects through Jiaxing South Station in the Jiaxing area to the under-construction Nantong-Ningbo High-Speed Railway, links via Tongxiang Station to the under-construction Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway, and ends at Hangzhou West Station. The newly built main line is about 197 kilometers long, including about 54 kilometers in the Shanghai section and about 143 kilometers in the Zhejiang section, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line will have 9 stations, including 4 newly built stations at Fengxian, Shanghai Jinshan, Pinghu City, and Linping North, 4 stations to be renovated and expanded at Situan, Jiaxing South, Tongxiang, and Hangzhou West, and 1 existing station at Shanghai East.
