Recently, reporters followed the National Intellectual Property Administration's local news tour to visit Shandong, Shanxi, and other regions, experiencing firsthand the vivid practice of intellectual property empowering high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
The innovation breakthroughs of enterprises and the upgrading of industries cannot be achieved without the solid support of intellectual property. For Jinbo Bio, its confidence in standing at the forefront of industry development stems precisely from a proprietary core technology system cultivated over more than a decade. To date, the company has accumulated 248 authorized patents, covering the entire chain from molecular research and development to preparation processes and product applications. Multiple innovative products have been approved for market launch, and technological advantages are steadily being converted into industrial growth momentum.
There are many similar stories of leveraging patented technologies to move from original innovation to the market: Taishan Sports Industry Group Co., Ltd. has applied patents such as the "carbon fiber composite hybrid molding device" to the research, development, and production of sports equipment, serving nearly 2,000 domestic and international competitions; Shanxi Jiasdda Robot Technology Co., Ltd. independently developed the "Sato T50 disc window-cleaning robot," relying on multiple patents to build core competitiveness, with products exported to 56 countries and regions.
Since the General Office of the State Council issued the "Special Action Plan for Patent Transformation and Application (2023–2025)" in 2023, provinces and regions along the Yellow River have vigorously promoted patent industrialization, accelerating the transformation of innovative achievements into real productive forces. Heng Fuguang, spokesperson for the National Intellectual Property Administration, introduced that as of August this year, the number of valid invention patents and valid trademark registrations in the nine provinces and regions along the Yellow River reached 910,000 and 10.074 million respectively.
From laboratories to fields, intellectual property is injecting growth momentum into this land in diverse forms. In the golden autumn season, the winter jujube orchards in Zhanhua District of Binzhou, Shandong, are welcoming a bountiful harvest. Jujube farmers move among the trees, their faces beaming with joy. As a national geographical indication product, Zhanhua winter jujube has formed an industrial cluster integrating production, sales, research and development, and tourism. "In recent years, we have focused on issues such as cold resistance and fruit growth stability, continuously improving varieties and supporting management techniques to help jujube farmers better achieve stable yields and increased income," introduced Yu Hongchang, Director of the Zhanhua District Winter Jujube Research Institute. In 2025, the local winter jujube industry output value exceeded 7.5 billion yuan, becoming a true "wealth fruit" and "happiness fruit."
The number of entities using the geographical indication special label in Shanxi Province has increased to more than 1,000. Shanxi aged vinegar and Jixian apples were included in the first batch of the China-EU geographical indication mutual recognition and protection list; Qinghai Province's "Qaidam goji berry" geographical indication product's full industry chain has driven employment for over 70,000 person-times, with average household income increasing by 23,000 yuan; Gansu Province has built the Yellow River Tower 5A scenic area landmark wall, landmark lane, landmark theme park, and geographical indication scenic area.
It is understood that the National Intellectual Property Administration has approved the construction of 36 national geographical indication protection demonstration zones in the nine provinces and regions along the Yellow River, actively promoting the transformation of ecological resources into industries that enrich the people, and polishing local "specialty products" into "golden name cards."
From hardcore patents supporting modern industries to geographical indications activating rural economies, reporters believe that intellectual property will continue to inject surging momentum into the high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.
