Air New Zealand Adds Over 7,000 Seats on Shanghai-Auckland Route

Air New Zealand (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) said it will add more than 7,000 seats between Shanghai and Auckland during the 2027 Chinese New Year period, with three additional return services each week from Jan. 23, 2027, to Feb. 20, 2027, bringing the route to 10 weekly services, according to a Wednesday statement by the airline.
The increased capacity is intended to meet strong seasonal demand, boost tourism and domestic connectivity in New Zealand, and provide exporters with additional cargo space.
The airline's New Zealand shares gained over 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
