ANZ Group Holdings (NZE:ANZ, ASX:ANZ) said it will commence a competitive tender process to select the next provider of its external audit services, according to a Friday filing on the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
KPMG, which has served as the bank's external auditor since 1969, will be excluded from the selection process due to its long tenure, per the filing.
The tender process is expected to conclude by April 2027, with the new audit firm set to commence its appointment in fiscal 2029, the filing said.
Shareholders will vote on the successful firm at the bank's 2028 annual general meeting, the filing added.
The lender's New Zealand shares were down nearly 1% in recent Friday trade.
