Traders Ramp up Bets on Fed Holding Interest Rates Steady

Futures traders now see an 86% chance that the Fed will maintain interest rates at their current level when it meets later in October. Before the release of a softer-than-expected report on the U.S. labor market, they had put the chances at 72%, CME Group data shows.
The chances of a quarter-point rate hike in December have risen slightly to 64%, from 61% before the jobs report. Traders see a 25% chance that the Fed holds steady in December, up from 19% before the report, according to CME.
