Ford Motor (F) reported Friday that its Q3 vehicle sales in the US fell 6.6% year over year to 509,764, which it attributed to the phaseout of its Escape and Corsair models as well as the impact of a short-term supplier issue.
The automaker said that, adjusting for Escape and Corsair, its total vehicle sales volume was unchanged from a year earlier.
Despite the decline in US sales, Ford said there has been strong demand for its truck and hybrid models. The company said Q3 sales of Maverick Hybrid increased 59.6%.
Shares of Ford were down about 1.1% in Friday trading.
