Singapore Shares Open Flat as Investor Worries Remain Amid Rising Oil Prices

Singapore shares opened flat on Friday with a positive bias as investors remained cautious amid rising oil prices driven by the US-Iran tensions, reviving inflation fears.

The Straits Times Index opened 3.03 points higher to 5,670.70.

Oil prices rose by more than $4 a barrel on Thursday, with Brent crude rising to more than $102 as Middle East tensions and China's suspension of exports of oil products heightened concerns over global oil supply.

With rising fears about oil supply, investor worries over inflation have dampened sentiment across the markets.
