Patagonia Lithium (ASX:PL3) said a 72-hour pump test conducted on well 8 in the Cilon concession in Argentina achieved 2,043 liters per hour for a total of 146,800 liters extracted, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company identified a well-sorted sandy horizon with thin levels of volcaniclastic influence between 226 meters and 324 meters, an interval that stands out as an aquifer zone of interest due to its favorable porosity and permeability properties, per the filing.
Additionally, laboratory chemical analyses confirmed the presence of lithium-rich brines in the main aquifer interval, with concentrations reaching up to 232 milligrams per liter.
The "strong pumping results" at well 8 show that the aquifer performs very well near the surface, said Patagonia Lithium Executive Chairman Phillip Thomas.
The company's shares jumped 15% in recent Friday trade.
