OpenAI, Anthropic Reportedly Express Support for Mandatory AI-Breach Reporting at Australian Hearing

Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI and Amazon (AMZN)-supported Anthropic have called for mandatory reporting of any data breaches caused by AI agents, media outlets reported Tuesday.
Speaking at a parliamentary hearing on AI in Australia on Tuesday, where OpenAI took three months to inform authorities that one of its agents had breached the country's main health portal, Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon said the company "should have handled our response better," the reports said.
Anthropic told lawmakers it hadn't found any cases of breaches in Australia during a recent investigation, BBC reported.
Anthropic and OpenAI did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
