Treasury yields are trading higher to start the week, with the benchmark U.S. 10-year yield at 5.33%, about 0.015 percentage point below recent multidecade highs.

The Nasdaq composite meanwhile is leading stock indexes and poised to close at a record high. French engineering firm Schneider Electric agreed to buy U.S. software maker PTC, in a move to prepare its portfolio for industrial artificial intelligence.

The move puts PTC, the S&P 500's best performer today, on course for its largest percentage increase on record. Other stocks linked to the AI, from Nvidia to Western Digital and Seagate Technology are also rising.

In bonds, yields on 10-year French government bonds are lower while the 10-year U.S. bond yield is up, reversing some of the moves from last week that helped the dollar rally against the euro. The dollar edged higher Monday, close to an almost 18-month peak against a basket of currencies. France's stock market index also fell 1% today.

In Brazil, stocks jumped and the real is rallying more than 4% against the dollar after a first-round victory last night by Flavio Bolsonaro against President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Oil prices are little changed following an agreement Friday by G-7 countries to release crude and diesel reserves.
