Takara (TYO:2531) has resolved to transfer 70% of its wholly owned subsidiary Takara Butsuryu System to Chuo Warehouse (TYO:9319) for 5.99 billion yen, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Monday.
Takara will retain a 30% stake in the subsidiary after the transfer, which is scheduled to close on April 1, 2027. The company said it expects to record a gain of about 3.63 billion yen as extraordinary income in consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2028.
The filing said the logistics subsidiary faces declining product volumes from Takara Shuzo due to demographic trends and shifting alcohol consumption, as well as industry‑wide driver shortages and rising labor costs.
Takara Butsuryu System reported net sales of 12.6 billion yen and net income of 869 million yen for the fiscal year ended March 31.
