SoftBank Group's (TYO:9984) Chief Executive Masayoshi Son warned that artificial superintelligence could become "super dangerous" in the wrong hands, urging global collaboration on AI governance, Bloomberg News reported Sunday, citing a forum in Kyoto.

Son's warning follows recent AI security breaches and contrasts with his financial backing of the sector, which includes nearly $65 billion invested in OpenAI, the report said.

Despite the warnings, Son reiterated his forecast that AI will account for at least 20% of global GDP by 2040, generating roughly $46 trillion in economic output.
